How to make a resin German ammo canisters (E-007)
Set can be used with the following AFVs:
Step 1 — Cleaning
Separate resin parts and remove thin resin remnants with sharp blade. Please, be careful, sharp blade may hurt you or damage resin part. Clean and polish joining points of resin parts with sandpaper. Use 800–1000 grade sandpaper. To separate small parts from resin sprue please scratch the line near the part. Use sharp needle and scratch the surface several times. Break the part from the sprue.Step 2 — Sanding
Sand the surface with file and polish with sandpaper.Step 3 — Bending Photo-Etched Parts
Bend two parts “4” around each part “5” just like in the photo above. Bend “1” and “3” parts like in the photo above. Add one “2” part to each “1” part.Step 4 — Fixing Elements
Elements prepared on earlier steps should be fixed with cyanoacrylate glue (called often CA glue).Step 5 — Priming
Such prepared ammo box can be primed with Mr.Resin Primer Surfacer, Mr.Surfacer or similar primer.Step 6 — Painting
Painted canisters should be left for drying. After that you may add some weathering and make boxes looking a little bit worn. When all effects are added you may install such prepared element on your kit or diorama.Step 7 — Colours and markings of ammo boxes
Some early manufactured ammo canisters were painted with black green colour. You may use following paints:- Humbrol 91
- Mr.Color C018
- Mr.Hobby Color H065
- any equivalent of popular aviation colour RLM70
- Humbrol 84
- Mr.Color C030
- Mr.Hobby Color H403
- Tamiya XF-60
- any equivalent of popular armour colour Dunkelgelb 43 / Wehrmacht Olive
